OLD January

A new script update is up in the Script Section (page 2). The section stars Poon at his best!

I found a great section of a story with Chevy where he speaks of Fletch and his idea for a 3rd Fletch....He can identify with Fletch. "Clark is nothing like me, but Fletch is. He's the cynical wise-ass. I tried to give him (Kevin Smith) my idea of having Fletch be one of those ambush television journalists. It lends itself to so many comic possibilities." Who knows...that might have been a good direction to go. Guess we'll never know.

It was reported last week that many directors and producers were after the rights of Fletch before Kevin Smith snatched them up. Such producers as Warner Bros.-based Mark Canton (Caddyshack), Universal-based Marc Platt (Uni released the original films), Columbia Pictures' Sid Ganis, Phoenix Pictures topper Mike Medavoy and Paramount-based Donald DeLine are said to be among those who wanted the rights.

Yesterday I received a response from the very complimentary "Fletch" letter I sent George "Fat Sam" Wendt. Unfortunately, it was a b/w pre-print photo. It reads "Cheers! George Wendt." If you want the address you can email me. Personally it's not worth the stamp. I'm very disappointed he has no time for his fans. Check it out by clicking HERE!

New update in the FLETCH SCRIPT section (part 2). Big section of Fletch meeting with Mrs. Stanwyk.

Also our good pal Jack found out that before Kevin got the rights to the Fletch books/movies, many many producers and actors were trying to acquire the rights to them. When I find out who, I'll let you know.

Also the last person to send in that great drawing of Fletch with the Afro, Julio Gutierrez, is putting it up for auction on eBay. It is a really great piece of art work and would look fantastic framed on someone's wall.Check out the auction HERE

Also Geena "Larry" Davis celebrates her 44th Birthday on Sunday January 21. Happy Birthday Geena and everyone else have a super weekend!

Hey everyone, hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. As you know the site has been having some problems. Homepage is all screwed up but claims they are trying to fix the problem. The page loaded for me fine today so I figured I'd make the first update of 2001...

Our good buddy Jack has informed us that info on Chevy's next project was mentioned in Variety:

Under the terms of the latest partnership with the Toronto-based MEG, the next pic out of the blocks will be Chevy Chase vehicle "Out of Order." Chase will play a lawyer battling his attorney ex-girlfriend in a high-profile murder case.Twentieth Century Fox has a first-look distribution deal for the courtroom comedy, developed in conjunction with Harold Ramis’ Fox-based Ocean Pictures.

Also Kevin Szoke sent in his drawing of Fat Sam. Its awesome...check it out in the Draw Fletch section. Thanks Kev.

Kevin Smith e-mailed me yesterday about the possibility of selling Fletch Shirts. I'm working on it so I'll let everyone know what we come up with when its all done.

Other than that Fletch news has been pretty dead. Especially with Kev's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back movie in full throttle. So Fletch Won news should really surface until after that flick is done. So hopefully the page is coming back...slowly but surly. I apologize for everything and thank all of you for kept checking the page even in it's down time.
